[On the topic] Modern multidisciplinary media about video games
Attitude to video games, until recently, around the world was quite unusual. Every year the games became more popular, the sales increased, and the average age of the player was slowly selected by thirty years. But their lighting in multidisciplinary, or large convergent media resources, whether it was television channels, magazines or newspapers, remained at a rather primitive level, like: “How computer games make our children the Mutan-Mutant Debils”. I think that I should not, dear readers, tell you about the absurdity of such materials made according to the template – you yourself know everything about it yourself.
As it is supposed to me by profession, I constantly study the modern press, both political and social subjects, and entertaining, glossy and game, of course. So, recently I began to notice that society still begins to slowly accept video games as a natural phenomenon in pop culture. If you are interested in game journalism (and you are interested, so after all?), they should have paid attention to the fact that our gaming resources often refer to a certain foreign publication “The Guardian”, when they “post” information about “drains”, or announcements. “The Guardian” is a long -lived British press, one of the most popular and authoritative newspapers of England. Like almost any modern media, The Guardian went along the convergence path, and has acquired a site with many headings.
As you can see, in the “Culture” section, the section about games equally took a place among others: about cinema, about art, books, TV, etc.
But it is noteworthy, our “Russian newspaper”, the official publication of the Government of the Russian Federation and one of the most popular print media in Russia, went further: the RG editorial office launched a separate project “RG Digital”, which is engaged in news from the world of video games, gadgets and others from this area.
-Unfortunately, I cannot name the exact date of launching this project, but the main Internet portal “RG” earned in 2012. If you suddenly know – write in the comments.
– But now, the most interesting. Most likely, most of you know the Male magazine “GQ”. It is possible that someone reads. But nevertheless, if someone is not in the subject, I will briefly tell: “GQ” is a monthly male magazine, mainly about the lifestyle and fashion, slightly affects the movies, TV shows or food, but, for the most part, its authors tell which lofors are better to put on a trip to Monaco. On “Rolls-Royce”. For great clarity, I attach a photo:
In the June issue https://nonukcasinosites.co.uk/300-deposit-bonus/ of this publication, unexpectedly for me, there were as many as two turns about the games, moreover, in the characteristic “GQ” of a categorical manner: quite assertively and with useful tips.

It’s no secret that such arts as cinema, for example, or multiplier, only after decades, society accepted a certain phenomenon, which should not be attacked by all honest people with pitchfork and torches. At some point, it will be so with video games, and everything described above shows that such a trend exists.
The media are constantly looking for the points of contact with their readers and spectators, therefore, sooner, or later about games, everyone will write: tens of millions of people around the world, no one will decide, even if this goes against the well -established “workday” attitude towards games for most of society.

The mentions of the media about computer games have long gone beyond: “How computer games make our children the Muttant Mutant Mutanes”. Yes, probably, even did not even begin with this. It is worth recalling the legendary “from the screw!”Who began to go out 20 years ago. And lit up on large channels – RTR and NTV. Not for the children’s audience. The famous “hacker”, at first, was also largely dedicated to the games, and “computra”, at least while it was still a newspaper, also had a constant column about games. And this is all rather adult, for solid uncles and skinny red -eyed students, reading from the last century.
I hope that some publications will publish that the same shooters develop a reaction, strategies develop strategic thinking and logic, and not only forced to kill Khrevykishkimyaso.
Excessive enthusiasm for virtual games can negatively affect relationships with his wife. Dependence on the face, but we are not talking about cruelty. That is, a normal person, computer games are unlikely to force you to take up weapons, but those who have a tendency to cruelty can push to crime.
Quotes from this very report. Everything is right and in the case. No categorical: “forced to kill” there and there is no nearby.
You, of course, are right. But I brought, first of all, the media about mentioning video games in which, it was difficult to believe five years, or seven ago. Now such a tendency is that soon Esquire will write about games 🙂
